Crossfit Roseburg Partner Fund

The Crossfit Roseburg Partner Fund was established to assist disenfranchised children. The fund promotes healthy lifestyles for youth in Douglas County, including Christmas gifts, scholarships for Crossfit classes, to name a few opportunities. Each year, Crossfit Roseburg holds an exercise competition to raise funds for vulnerable youth. Last year, they assisted a family whose child was undergoing extensive and costly treatment for cancer.

Dr. McCart Scholarship Program

Dr. Chuck McCart was a beloved emergency room doctor who lost his battle with cancer in the spring of 2011. Part of Dr. McCart's legacy is the helipad on the Mercy Campus. As an ER doctor, he was committed to ensuring that every patient who needed it should have access to life-saving air transport. It was through his personal efforts that a helipad was eventually built on the Mercy campus. So when it was time to honor him, it was decided that the helipad should be dedicated and renamed in his honor. The Dr. McCart Scholarship Program will serve to provide a scholarship(s} to a deserving paramedic student.

Kimmie Murray Partner Fund

I. Purpose

The purpose of the Fund shall be to support the health, education, and outreach programs of Mercy Foundation’s mission, “Enriching the health, well-being families in Douglas County.” Kimmie and Bob Murray have created this fund to assist women with expenses related to regular exams to ensure early detection of breast cancer, as well as, other incidentals related to the prevention and wellness of those diagnosed with breast cancer.  Distributions from this fund will be reviewed on a frequency to be determined.

II. Donors

Kimmie and Bob are lifelong Oregonians. Kimmie grew up in Creswell and Bob grew up in Glide. Together they operate a trucking company in Roseburg. After Kimmie was diagnosed with breast cancer, she began her mission to raise awareness about the importance of an annual mammogram.  Kimmie spoke with many women about her journey and found several had not received an annual mammogram because of costs.   Kimmie encouraged them to schedule a mammogram and followed up with several women. After following up, she found 10% of them were in need of additional care that may have gone undetected had they not been screened.

Her husband, Roger, family and friends created this Hospice Endowment fund in keeping with Martha's wishes to give something to the hospice program that served her so well.

Molly McGinnis Partner Fund

Established to provide funding for events for families of special needs children, scholarships for Douglas County college students pursuing careers working with special needs children, and support research for MPS and related disorders. Kenny and Kathy McGinnis have established this fund in memory of their daughter Molly.

Sarah Beavers Partner Fund

Sarah Beavers is a survivor of a childhood cancer. At the time of her illness, the family had major medical insurance, but it did not cover all of her expenses, citing a pre-existing condition. Her family decided to create this fund with the excess monies that were received in the hope they would be able to help other families who have children fighting cancer.

For the last several years, Sarah and her family have disbursed money from the fund to support Camp Millennium and Mercy Foundation's Healthy Kids Outreach Program.
